About Us

About Our Location

Comfort Keepers of Peekskill was started in 2003 by Dr. Joy Traille, a former Microbiologist, as a tribute to her mother, Leanorah Williams. Leanorah lost her battle to heart disease at age 62. Joy learned first-hand about the challenges and joys of caregiving while she cared for her mother throughout her long period of illness.

In 2006, Comfort Keepers of Peekskill became the system’s first licensed home care agency in New York State. This allowed the company to build on Kris Klum’s original non-medical model and provide additional services such as nursing and personal care services. In 2008, Comfort Keepers of Peekskill was chosen as franchise of the year within the organization and Joy was awarded Franchise of the Year by the International Franchise Association. In 2009 Joy was awarded the Quality of Life award by the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce.

Our mission is to provide our clients with the highest level of quality of life that is achievable.  We shall treat each of our clients with the respect and dignity they deserve, as though we were caring for a member of our own family.

The special people who deliver our unique brand of in-home senior care (We call them Comfort Keepers®.) are carefully selected, screened, and trained to provide professional, compassionate care.

Comfort Keepers of Peekskill is a New York State licensed home care agency. We provide service to clients throughout Westchester, and some areas of Putnam and Dutchess counties. We are dedicated to providing in-home care to seniors and others who need help with activities of daily living and our goal is to allow people to stay in their own homes versus seeking other care alternatives.

Our Philosophy

Interactive Caregiving™ is based on four primary pillars, which Comfort Keepers leverage to care for, engage, and interact with our clients:

  1. An active senior mind promotes independence, better mental and physical health, happiness, and a longer life.
  2. A physically active senior maintains strength and independence, lessening or delaying the effects of aging.
  3. A well-nourished senior is more energetic, both physically and mentally.
  4. A safe senior lives in an environment that reduces the likelihood of accidents and promotes timely response when illness or accidents occur.

With our Interactive Caregiving approach, we are able to raise seniors’ quality of life to a much higher level than typical in-home care providers.
